I think this will be a fun thing to do every month on here as kind of a newsletter vibe, frequency may vary lmao. Let’s begin.
Reading:

All About Love was the first book that I picked up in 2025. It was a pretty quick read, and an informative one. Now I know that I have toxic traits when it comes to romantic relationships but this book gave me some insight into where they came from, and what steps to take in order to correct them. I really enjoyed reading it and have already started implementing themes from this book into my life. I give it an 8.5/10.

Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times was the second book I finished and it was also a pretty quick read. I forget where I first discovered this title but boy was I hooked. It’s a beautifully written book about how we should accept the frigid cold of our own personal winters, and prepare appropriately. Some chapters felt almost poetic, I definitely cried at one point. I loved this book and gave it a 9/10.
Eating
Coconut Curry Chicken. Ramiz makes it, it’s delicious. He really excels in Asian cuisine it’s incredible.
Pastelón. I had to make this for work actually lol, I’d never heard of it and wasn’t even sure if I’d like it. It has Plantains, and a meat mixture that are layered and topped with cheese. It was honestly pretty polarizing and work but I really enjoyed it (despite the olives of course).
Playing
Let’s talk about what music I’ve been playing.

Everybody else is doing it, so why can’t we? : The Cranberries. One morning at work I randomly got Linger stuck in my head. I was really enjoying the weird yodel-adjacent vocals of the chorus and wanted to give the whole album a listen. First of all, so many bangers on one album, I didn’t even know I knew all of those songs. The vocals on this album are unique and pleasurable, it was a really calming listen. I give it an 8/10 and will be returning to it.

The Cheetah Girls Soundtrack. This is probably the first album that I owned and listened to front to back. It’s a quick listen at only 19 minutes, yet the songs evoke such an unexplainable emotion in me. This album is a masterpiece, including even the background tracks not sung by the group. I love this album and it will forever be a 10/10 to me.
Obsessing
This month I’ve really been obsessing over writing. I’ve been journaling a bunch and even started to blog a bit. I’ve just been trying to focus on setting goals and actually moving toward those goals all month. In some areas I’m excelling, in others I’m at an absolute fail. I seriously hope I can keep it up and that the gaps between entries get a little smaller.
Recommending

I’m recommending Kindles to EVERYONE! As someone who hadn’t been into reading for the longest time, the Kindle makes reading super accessible. Anytime I finish a book I can instantly download a new one right from home, you can even connect it to your Libby account and get free library books! I’m dedicating my 2025 reading to my Kindle and I’ve never been more excited.
Treating
Soooo this month I’ve been treating myself to staying home, HA! Honestly, I treated myself a little too much in December and needed to take this month off.
That’s it for January 2025! This was seriously the longest month ever but I can’t wait for February to fly by 🙂
Ciao for now xoxo
